I have a 2000 cherokee with the part time/full time transfer case.. Over the weekend only used the full time 4x4 while it was snowing, now ever since my PART TIME dash light stays on!! I've tried reverse after turning my 4x4, nuetral.... My 4x4 is disengaged it isn't stuck on or anything like that. Has anyone ever had a problem similar with this transfer case??? Thanks in advance.....I'm new here

Has your temperatures gotten above freezing for a period of time? Your switch may be frozen, stuck in the 4 x 4 mode.

IIRC, it is to the left of the transfer case around the shifter rods.

You might try cycling the lever several times and see if the light will go out.

There is a switch on the Tcase that is stuck in the on position.

Is there supposed to be a dash light for the standard part-time 4WD system?

Yeah. If the light is off, you're not in 4x4 mode.

If it's on, you are.

If it's working correctly.
