part swap
hello first time poster. my son has a 1995 grand cherokee with awd and a v8 engine. his transfer case locked up and is cracked and the front drive shaft is broken dont know if any other damage has happened. my question is will the transfer case from a 1996 cherokee 4wd straight 6 engine work in his v8 awd. thanks for any help and we will post some pics soon of his jeep cherokee and my wrangler

Yes. It will no longer be awd and I don't know if the internals are different. Also you might have a different mount for the new transfer case.
