I disconnected the battery for a couple of hours and connected it back and the brake light still stays on. The anti-lock constantly stays on too but I think the ABS system is failing anyways. Im replacing it soon anyways.

How do you know if you have abs or not? Is there any visual component you can look at to see if abs is there or not? I have a 94 sport.

And if anyone knows...when you apply the brakes...does the rear brakes engage at all(drums?) or only with the ebrake?

i know that my 96 has the abs stuff at the top right corner of under the hood. if you dont have it, that space will be a little bare. looks like a little drum ect, workin on findin pics. not sure about how much the rear drums are used in the overall breaking factor, my ebrake dosent work so im thinkin its mostly the front discs, could be wrong though.

you should have this the big diaphragm is your booster and the thing in front of it is your master cylinder. If you have these you should have ABS. The 1990's unfortunately dont have this wonderful brake system. Instead we have the crappy ABS that looks like this and it constantly fails. there was a recall on the 1990's brake system. its called the Bendix 9 brake system.

I just wanted add that the cables for an 1989 cherokee are about a quarter inch shorter then the ones for the 90. I had to do my cables twice cause of that lol
