Default Parking Brake Light

My parking brake light is always on. at first i thought it was because i had no brake fluid when i had a bad brake line but i replaced the line and filled the resovoir. its still on. obviously my e-brake is not pulled up. any thoughts? i have a 98 XJ by the way.

i have the same exact issue but im pretty sure its cuz i need to bleed them. the pedal almost goes to the floor before it starts to break. im gonna get new pads and bleed the system in within the next week and hopefully that will take care of it.

I believe there is a switch attached to the brake lever that is activated when the lever is pulled. The switch may just be bad. Someone can correct me if I'm mistaken.

There is a little switch, just pull the console and unplug it. Just remember your e brake is up when you use it
