Whats the proper way to get chrome rims set for painting, I would thinks theres a few ways what do you guys do for this. thanks in advance

next are they the stock rims that are just covers? if so i would take them off

I would take a wire wheel to it and scuff it up a good deal, prime then paint

Regular chrome aftermarket rims just a bit rusted up so Im looking at how to prep them for paint.

sry no pics the rust goes right thru the chrome to late to save em by polishing. Ill get some pics tho

That is bad rust.
I would have them sand blasted. Then just primer and paint.
If blasting is out of your price range then attack those wheels with a wire brush on a drill. Then sand, primer and paint.

thanks guys I ll bring to my buddies an have them blasted I just wasnt sure if blasting would work an recovering from back surgery right now I didnt want to do any extra work still kinda sore.
