I would always got 1 1/4 gal. of paint, for a car. Nothing worse than finding out, you do not have enough. Some times I would have some left over. Lighter metallics need more to cover. (Especially Silver) If your painting over the same dark green (shown in your pics.), and don't have a lot of repaired primer spots. You could get away with using just 1 gal. Spray a coat of clear, over it.

So, just wondering how things went, since I plan to be painting soon. How many gallons did you use and how many coats? How did it turn out? I'm thinking of going mil-spec desert tan. My Jeep is black right now.
