Goodmorning everyone, I have a quick question. I am replacing the ac compressor, drier, condenser, seals, and refrigerant line in my 01 XJ with the 4.0. The compressor is prefilled with 3.0 oz of oil. Do I need to add more oil to any of the other components being replaced or the compressor? I have heard that there is an amount you should add per component replaced. Is this true? If so, do you add the oil to the component being replaced or just add it to the compressor? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks


Haynes manual says:
For drier: remove schrader and pour out the oil from old drier. Measure and add this amount plus 1 oz to new drier.
For compressor: Drain excess oil before installing.
For condenser: Pour 1 oz of oil in before installing.

 

The FSM says:

Compressor drain and measure the oil from the old compressor as noted
