Default Pacesetter header problem

I got a pacesetter header system all the way to the cat. Problem is that where the tube goes by the front of the tranny it is VERY close to the front left corner of the tranny. When I turn the jeep to the left you can hear the pipe "knocking" on the tranny. I called pacesetter and they said to loosen the motor mounts and push the motor away, then to tighten the mounts back up? I guess that might work but seems to me that it wont, but im gonna try. Also he said if the motor mounts are sagging that could be the problem too. Anyone ever come across this problem or have any suggestions?

try denting the pipe or manipulate it with a BFH.
Your motor will not move by simple loosing the mounts and pushing it. that is pretty funny thats what they told you.

Chances are your motor mounts are shot anyway though. its a great up grade if you do them. real easy job and tightens up the Jeep.

post up some pics of that header, before and after install

I got under the jeep and pulled down on the exhaust pipe. I heard it "thump" on the cross member. Since I have a new tranny mount I decided to take the cross member off and hammer it a little. I also got a piece of tire and made a 3" by 3" square and drilled a couple holes in it and put it in between my cross member and my tranny mount. It raised the tranny about 1/4 inch and because I hammered the cross member a little I have 1/2 inch clearence on the exhaust pipe. No more "Knocking". The exhaust pipe by the bellhousing, the collector, is still really close though and ocaisionally hits the bell housing, only when Im 4 wheeling though. So I have to find a fix for that.
