My check engine light just came on so I hooked up my scanner and got code P0432. I did a search and didn't come up with a whole lot. Anyone have any success with this by replacing the cat or O2 sensor or both? Any help is appreciated.

 

I threw a code for an o2 sensor a few weeks ago and just replaced the upstream and downstream sensors. Haven't replaced the Cat yet, it rattles like crazy. The vendor section has someone selling cats for pretty cheap. I believe the P0432 code means "low Catalytic converter efficiency".

1. Cat conv. Defective.
2. Engine misfire or running condition.
3. Large vaccume leak.
4. Engine oil leak into exhaust valve guide seals or piston rings.
