i have a 98 cherokee classice with the 4.0 automatic. i recently had all three of these codes flash at the same time. the jeep has 150K and still runs great for the most part. i have been having the issue with starting and stumbling. i changed the fuel pump and thought that ws the problem with the stumble and hard start. if i roll the ign once, the second try the engine rolls fine. under a load the car will sometimes stumble but recovers.

has anybody had this happen?

 

The codes have the following definitions.

P0320 – Ignition/Dist engine speed input circuit malfunction
P0700 – Trans control malfunction
P0740 – TCC circuit malfunction

Vehicle reported fault codes should be treated the caution – otherwise you might find yourself trying to fix non-existent faults.

My advice is first clear the codes and see if they return; if they return – then further investigation is required.

If you don’t already own or have access to an OBD scanner – they are available at a very reasonable cost from many sellers on ebay.
