P0203 Code......grr
Got the codes pulled. I got Injector Circuit Open Cylinder 3. I've always gotten P0303 which is misfire cylinder three but this time it was different. Not exactly sure what this means. It's running fine right now.
I did some searching on other forums and most of them talk about spark plug wires shorting out or "open" but i dont have spark plug wires. Bad injector? Should i try swapping 3 with 1 and checking again?

Sounds like the wiring to that injector may have a break in it or a loose connection. Check that first. You need ae5 of "noid" lights to check injector firing.

I found this not sure what it mean but it pertains to the P0203 code...
Bad injector or injector plug or maybe the wiring or injector is getting to hot..
You could try swapping injectors or replacing the o-rings..pull the injector and inspect it first..
An open or shorted condition detected in control circuit for Injector # 3 or the INJ 3 injector bank

Check Injector #3 for a short to another wire or a chafed insulation area. If they don't show up then trace back to the harness and reinsulate it with heat shrink or tape. Clear the code and see if it returns.

2001 cherokee limited 4.0l
misfires only on decel like going down hill the misfire is on cyl.3 and have p0303 dtc . i've been all over this thing and it still has same codition. please help

bad injector
Is this problem happening after a heat soak? (ie: long enough trip to heat engine thoroughly, shut the engine down, 15 minutes start back up, engine misfires) Does it continue until then engine is allowed to cool completely down?
If so, you likely have a bad injector. Check the resistance of the actual injector. It should be something like 12 ohms but sometime is as much as 18. If it is open (no reading on your multi-meter) then the injector is bad. Replace it and you'll be good to go.
I had this problem in cyl #4 in my 2001 about 3 years ago and a new injector fixed it right up. Good luck.
