k so i searched this and completely didnt understand what the description meant :P

i'm thinking it means 02 sensor? not sure tho.

I'm sure someone out there knows what this means. Any help is appreciated.

P0171 (M) 1/1 Fuel System Lean A lean air/fuel mixture has been indicated by an abnormally rich correction factor.

 

k well i'm gunna go ahead and replace my o2 sensors anyways. :P

 

don't go replacing the o2 sensor just yet
I not a code expert but
the lean condition is being corrected by the o2 sensor
so I would think that the o2 is good and the problem is up system from that

 

just remember some times you need to be patient most of the guys work or go to school
so it my take a day to get a good response

 

Mike may be correct. It can be lean or rich depending upon the heat that is detected and relayed to the ECU. So the temp sensor may be the culprit. On the early stuff I could give you an electrical range for the sensors but when you rely upon electronics to do that the values may be quite different.

 

so not the o2 sensors? i picked up two of em today that i'll probly put on anyway but what then is the problem? i'm kinda confused.
