hi, my 2000 XJ threw a CEL today - the code reader tells me it is a P0103 - Mass Airflow Sensor high output. Hmmm....I don't think the XJ has a MAF, but only a MAP - and those codes are different (I think P0109 for MAP high output). Anyway, on occasion the engine runs rough for a few moments after a hot start. Any idea what the issue could be?

rough idle could be heat soak on the injectors, have you wrapped them yet?

 

Wrapped them? No I have not - I am relatively new to the XJ - is there a heat issue with the injectors? And would that cause the CEL?

 

Not sure if it will cause that code but it will throw missfire codes and cause rough idle and hard starts after the engine is hot.
