Well since replacing the fan clutch abd adding some coolant to the system it's been running better while driving and it sits nicely at 190-210 zone while driving. I'm replacing the water pump this weekend so hopefully that solves it. Plus I'm going to flush the heater core too so I'm hoping that solves my heat issue. I've heard of putting the detergent In the system but there's isn't a place around my college that I can get any and no place is open over thanksgiving so that's unfortunately not an option at the moment.

 

i just wanted to say thank you to all of you that gave me good feedback on what to do to fix my problem. i ended up replacing the waterpump, flushing the rad and heater core, and giving all of the cooling system a good cleaning. now the jeep is running cooler than ever and the heat works all of the time now. i really cant thank yinz enough

 

I've been having an issue with my 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo overheating only while idling too long. Also I've noticed sludge in my coolant as well as coolant been disappearing without any explained leaks. What could cause this?
