'91 up (open system) rad cap on radiator with a non-pressurized overflow bottle. '90 down (closed system) cap on pressurized bottle/reservoir.

i had the same problame with my 1989 i bout a air exac for the coolant system witch pulles a vaccum on the system then forces the coolant in makes life a hole lot easyer when it comes to gettin the air out or put a thermostat houseing off a newer jeep with the temperature sensor in it and unskrew it and let it run it will bleed out there also

What has happened to sentence structure, punctuation and spelling? LOL
U start the motor with that sensor unscrewed from the t-stat cover........u r gonna have a huge coolant mess everywhere.

Is it overheating while idling or at highway speeds? Mine was fine at idle, but overheating at highway speeds because the radiator was clogged. If u do this, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS JEEP DO A FLUSH, CHANGE YOUR WATER PUMP, TSTAT, UPPER AND LOWER RADIATOR HOSES WHILE YOU ARE AT IT!!!!!!! I didn't listen to someone at first and ended up having the thing apart 3'times. Fwiw.

I had an overheating problem with my 89. I checked everything and go to the point I changed the water pump 2 times, flushed the system, new thermostat... BLAH BLAH BLAH... One hot day I ran it, started seeing antifreeze on the radiator. I took the top radiator plate off and saw the seam of the radiator was basically rusting out. I changed it and refilled the system and it was fine for a year, before I bought a new one with less headaches!
