Default Overheating problem

My '91 Jeep Cherokee has an overheating problem. It runs between the 210 mark and the red constantly, normally creeping toward the red. I have auxillary fans that I always have turned on when I drive. I'm thinking about replacing the thermostat and water pump to see if that helps. I've tried replacing coolant and all that. What type of thermostat should I get? 180? 190? What brand etc. Also, are flowkooler water pumps good? If so, which one would be best for my jeep? If not, then what kind is good? I really need help guys.

About the only item you can test/check yourself is the t-stat in a pan of water on top of the stove using a cooking thermometer. Water pump could be bad but they usually start leaking when bad. The radiator could be plugged with scale/corrosion. Only way to check the rad is to remove it and take it to a rad shop for inspection/cleaning.

My personal 2 cents. If temp goes down when you turn on your heat or if you are leaking fluid from the top of your water pump "Weep Hole" If those two are happening one or the other or both change water pump first. If temp pretty much stays the same when you turn Heater on then do your thermo. If you cant tell any of these then change your thermo first and see what that does also make sure your running more that just water...

hopefully that helps.
