Overheating and Overhead display problems.

As I said last month, it's probably in the head.
After my nightmare, I would strongly suggest buying a new head. Yes, new not reman. Don't even try to think of remaning yours. It is scrap.
Get new head bolts too.

If I knew for sure it was the head I would replace it. I just don't really want to put a new head on without knowing its the problem. Is there a way to diagnose a bad head? I don't have any water in the oil or oil in the water and the coolant is green with no black tint. The engine runs strong when its not overheating.

A mechanic has recommended that I do a block test. Does anyone know what this consists of? Is it just a compression test? If it turns out to be the head can anyone recommend where to buy a new head or what I should be looking for when I buy one?
