Default overheating issues

Hello,

I have an '88 cherokee with a straight 6 and a serious overheating problem, I am running out of things to do here. I replaced the water pump first bc it went out, then the thermostat, and all the coolant hoses. Still the thing is overheating so bad that the coolant reservoir whistles like a kettle. Anyone out know of something else I need to try.

Thanx

DId you burp it after you did all that work. the 88 is a closed system and you may have air stuck in there.

ok,, check the hoses for any build up, also might want to do a rad flush, and if it stills dont cool down... go with some hood vents,, that helps I hear.. what degree tstat you put in? if you put the stock 195 one well migh want to consider 180 tstat.. also when refiling your rad, live the cap off so if you need to put some more in,, sometimes it suck it, it kinda has air bubbles
