Overheating issue
I'm completely stumped. I took it in and got a block test done. It passed. Yay but also, now I have no clue what else could be causing the overheating. I'm going to replace the radiator and put a mechanical fan back in and hope that's it but if not, what else could it possibly be? where could the coolant be going if I don't have a blown head or anything. I'm going to check the thermostat today as I never got around to checking that before I brought it in. I'll replace that but wtf. After I change the radiator and fans is there anything else to even replace besides the damn engine?
Just went though it on an old 58 Ford with a 292. Completely bored and rebuilt the engine from the bottom up, rebuilt heads and all. Started getting raw oil in the cooling system but absolutely no coolant in the oil. Decided I may have ended up with a bad head gasket. Replaced the head gaskets and inspected everything with a fine tooth comb and found nothing to explain it. Started to drive it again and got the same thing. I have finally come to the conclusion that there is a casting flaw or crack in the block allowing oil from the oil galley running up through the head to the rocker shaft to push it's way into the water jacket.

You haven’t done anything yet, how can you be stumped?
Clutch fan or nothing, nothing else is going to have the cubic feet per minute as the clutch fan and 1 electric fan.
Until you do that, it’s going to overheat.
Make sure you have a fan shroud for the mechanical fan too.

Yes I was stumped after replacing almost everything in the cooling system anyway, I figured out the issue. Well actually the shop did but it passed the block test. Yay! No head gasket repair costs. Turns out. The gauge wiring is messed up. It's not actually overheating. The gauge is just reading wrong. Now I gotta figure out the wiring tho which is really 10x worse but way cheaper so i'm happy
Does anyone know any faulty wire possibilities?

I did check it with a temp gun and it said it wasn't overheating but you never know if a temp gun is right. There's always a chance it's wrong and buying a hundred dollar Milwaukee temp gun wasn't something I wanted to do but I guess looking back. If I had done that first I could have saved time and money given I replaced most of the parts in there anyway. You live and learn.
