I have a thread on jeepforum but thought i would post here as well.

So i have a 2000 cherokee classic 205,XXX and im in school to be a tech myself so im not new to this stuff but this stumps me and it's boiling over not just a faulty sending unit.

When moving stays about 200 but as soon as i stop starts to overheat and if i step on it going up hill it the temp rises. Or if i drive in the rain it runs cool right how it should.

Replaced and checked
2 core radiator pressure and flow checked by a shop
water pump with new one and replaced it 3 times to be safe
Thermostat replaced twice and checked in hot water before i put this one in
Hoses
Thermostat housing
Bypassed heat exchanger with transcooler to make sure trans was not heating up the coolant (this helped by maybe 5 degrees but still overheats)
Proper 50/50 mix
Flushed the block
No A/C
Burped the system of all air and the heater core is also good
Replaced fan clutch and the electric fan and it comes on at 215 like clock work

I asked a few instructors at school and they believe my block and head are scaled and filled with crap the flush and get and it's time to start jeep shopping.

have you checked your fan clutch?

If its fine while driving but gets hot while sitting, pretty sure I'd be looking at the fan.

Sorry i forgot to put both the fan clutch is new and i replaced the electric fan a year ago and comes on at 215.

Makes you wonder if some of these guys can read (fan clutch)lol.and you did put it down/ boiling over have you check for a cracked head , block or bad head gasket? Prop yourself up on the motor and unscrew the oil filler and look down between #3 and 4 cylinder for a crack you will see a green line of coolant or simalar if your head is cracked,# 0331 heads 00-01 love to crack if bad get yourself an aftermarket one.

It's not consuming any coolant but i did look into the oil fill and see if the head cracked and from what i can tell it's not and when you pull the dip stick it's clean fresh oil not a soupy coolant oil mix.

im almost 100% sure i did after i put in another new thermostat and water pump this weekend i parked it on a steep incline to further help the system bleed any air bubbles and i had the heat on as well. It's to the point im starting to look at new Cherokees to find a good candidate to swap my lift and everything over.

just for ****s and giggles your thermostat is in right,im not saying you dont know what your doing either but it happens sometimes. I sure it is right anyways you said it was a 195 too right.im just throwing stuff out to you cause it dont make sence with everything new no leaks etc.

Yup 195 thermostat and it is in right i take no offense im stumped so is my did and all his mechanic friends. The cooling passages in the block starting to clog is the only thing starting to make sense anymore and i did flush the block.
I asked like 20 instructors and ones that had an answer all said that's the only thing they could think of.

makes me wonder if you can read

hows your oil and/or oil filter? if that starts to get gunked up it can cause things to heat up.

Oil is recently changed and i have a wix filter on it not some cheap crap.
Here is a little more info but it sat for 3 months with almost no coolant im gonna assume since when i finally changed out my rad the old one had almost no coolant in it. Changed due to cracked reservoir.

make sure your bottom rad hose is in good order they can collasps under heat i would also be checking the fan clutch i know you said it was new but was it a cheap brand

When sitting, does it just keep rising? or once the electric fan kicks on, does it hold steady?
