Default OVERHEATING

I have replaced everything in my cooling system with upgraded parts aluminum rad e-fans 180ther everything the whole nine yards but i still run at 210 no ac and 230 with. what could be my problem and how might i fix it??

Have you replaced the water pump?
Not on the XJ but on other cars I have seen the impeller get loose on the shaft and make one over heat.

If that is good. Then you better be checking for a blown head gasket or cracked head.

make sure your electric fan is turning on. if not check fuse and relay. also flush your heater core as they seem to get gummed up after 100,000 or so.

210 is normal temp. 230 is a little high but not bad. clean the radiator inside and out change coolent if it's more then three years old. if you E-fan didn't work you would be way hotter then 230 i wouldn't worry

Did you replace the fan clutch? Mine did the same thing until I replaced it. Runs about 195 to 200 now.

My temp gauge works at its own will....but i have noticed that mine would overheat with the A/C on if I was just sitting idle for too long. Just found out yesterday, it was elec. fan not kicking on. Replaced with one from an earlier xj i believe, it works!
