Glad to see freegdr here. Was about to ask ... is there more than one sensor and if the sensor replaced is really the one for the temp gauge?

No I have two sensors. Both are new. I have the fan run off a switched ignition power in the cab. No more overheating.

That is what I am putting in this weekend when I switch to an open cooling system. My fan switch was in the radiator, my new radiator doesnt have one. So I am putting in a 91+ thermostat housing and putting the temp sensor for the jegs part there. we will see how it works

Why not just use a cts from 91 and wire existing wires from old switch to that sensor. Alls it does is ground the circut causing fan to activate .

Even with the elec fan on all the time it still gets up to temperature and the most I've seen is 215-220 possibly. I'm sure there are other things going on with my cooling system

U need to look into those "other things going on with my cooling system" (radiator maybe) asap. Hot weather is just around the corner. The efan should not be needed/on "all the time". Unless u do frequent hi-water crossings, the efan switch is just a band-aid.

With a 200F "on" temp, that fan controller is likely to run the efan constantly during the summer months....depending on your driving conditions. How is coolant temp going to reach the 185F "off" temp when using a 195F t-stat??????

I read somewhere that the sensor for 91+ was a different style of sensor since it does fan and gauge reading. It doesn't do the simple on/off like the sensor that is in the 90 and older radiator.

I was wondering about this too, but in all honesty im not worried about it running all the time, chances are I will have the windows up and the air a-pumping anyways, so it would be on regardless. I was just going to wire a switch to the cab, but I occasionally forget to look at gauges.......
Knowing that I have a whole stand alone system that will function by itself is nice to know.

So I'm pretty sure my cat is clogged. Noticed it getting quieter. Also I've had some rocker noise. Not sure if the added back pressure could cause rocker noise, it comes and goes at idle, and when you let off the throttle. But I'm sure the clogged cat isn't helping the overheating

Well it's been doing ok.. Towed my jetskis today and it didn't like the highway driving with the added stress. Had to pull over to let it cool down.

What's the best way to tell where the blockage is. Clearly it's not an airflow issue.. Unless the radiator is full of mud, which I don't think it is.

I would throw another radiator in it but I happen to know that the lower trans line is seized.. So I'm going to need a new one of those as well.

Upper radiator hose is hard, but that doesn't mean there isn't blockage somewhere else..
