Did y'all take a look at the belt driven fan? Make sure that one draws air through the radiator too.

If that electric fan was pushing air at low speeds, that's quite possibly enough to cause the problem entirely. At the very least, a big portion of it.

Did a good trip to the woods- went up a verry long slow hill, abo0t 3 miles steady uphill, didn't have any issue. It's 65 degrees outside, it would have normally overheated. So I'd say it's good for now, hard to say how it will do in the heat of summer ( it gets 100 around here pretty frequently)
Are there any recomendations as far as coolant that will keep deposits down, and the system clean?
Thanks everyone for the help!

The usual 50/50 green stuff. Some people like to use a water wetter. I have never tried it myself. The theory is sound, and the claimed improvements don't sound too good to be true.

The only thing I know I better than 50/50 green coolant is Evan's coolant. I have personally never used it, but I heard great things.

50/50 green. The way to keep sludge and deposits down is to empty and refill every other year.

Just read this entire thread. Hope you got it. I've run water wetter in some of my stuff..even motorcycles without fans. Works pretty well. GL!

You said he rewired the fan the correct way.

You sure he got it all the way back full after having the water pump out?

Do you mean the coolant system?
It ran fine after he replaced the water pump, he burped it etc. Took it up for a good long drive. And the next time it didn't run fine.
