It's EZEARL's fault! He answered within 4 minutes and chased him away with a smart answer. I guess he had no sense of humor. You've got to have thick skin to last on this forum.

 

Thank you all for your suggestions. I haven't figured out anything yet....and may not for sometime. Doing other projects-like rebuilding a deck that got damaged in the storm, splitting the wood from two huge trees, etc. Since the day it was so hot, I've not had any more problems, but it does still run fairly warm. No coolant leaks that I can tell-always full when I check. It isn't like most of you who run your vehicles on the highway, etc. This jeep goes 1/2 mile down to the dock and 1/2 mile up to the house periodically. (like maybe once a week or so) There is no shop to take it to (unless I want to barge it off the island and back on for $1200.00). I'd love to have a diagnosis and solution that would help someone else, but for right now, I'm not at a place to do much further investigation. When I get time, I may try a couple of the ideas that people have given me. Thanks to all who have shared your ideas.
