Overheating
So I’ve had this Cherokee for about a month and a half now. When we first brought it home there was very little coolant in it. We filled it up and put in a new 195 thermostat in it. About two weeks ago I noticed it leaking a good amount of coolant. We put Barr’s leak in it which stopped the leak, but now it won’t run at 195. It normally runs 210ish and below and only goes any higher when in traffic. Is the only solution to replace the radiator?

Might also want to flush the engine before replacing the radiator. Oh I almost forgot. Check the water pump weep hole for leakage and replace if needed, replace the thermostat, check the fan clutch for proper operation, and make sure that the electric fan kicks on at 223 degrees. And last but not least check the belt and replace if needed. In short you should do a complete cooling system service.
