Default Cherokee runs when it wants to

I'm sorry if this isn't in the right place, I can move if I need to. My son has a 91 Cherokee 4x4 4.0 H.O. it has died on him a few times while driving down the road and sometimes it'll start back up and sometimes not. I've been troubleshooting it and if it'll start it'll idle and run fine, after 5-10 minutes I'll shut it off, wait a few seconds and try an start and it'll just crank. Let it sit for 5 minutes or so and it'll fire right up. Let run, shut off and won't start again until you wait a bit. I've check for spark coming from the coil to the distributor and won't get any spark until the last second when we let off the key and it'll be a yellowish goldish color. I think it might be a sensor acting up but where do I start? All I can think of right now is start replacing all of them until it decides to run but not wanting to spend that much if not needed.

Check fuel pump pressure. Then all the grounds. Dont just look at grounds, take them off, sand or grind them shiny and put them back on.

My 2 cents worth.

happy Jeepin

the normal advice is to test or replace the ignition coil, crank sensor, and cam sensor, in that order.
Check inside the dizzy for any visible problem with cap or rotor

Thanks for the ideas, I'll start checking things and see if I come up with anything. Im going to the bank this week and going to see if my son can get a loan with us co-signing to get something different. I hate to give up on the Jeep but it's every week something is wrong with it, may even end up with a newer jeep.
