Hello fellow jeepers!
I tried looking for a solution in the forums and haven't come up with any. Few days ago my wife and I went into "town" (Rural area where walmart is 20 miles away) and got some food. We parked, and left the jeep on for A/C. Ofcourse, I shouldn't have, and the light came on, it beeped that it was overheating, and i turned it right off.
I opened the hood and the reservoir tank was boiling (NEVER seen this, but Im not a mechanic, just a DIYer), and there was coolant coming out from the reservoir and the radiator cap. We let it set with the hood up, and waited. Eventually it came down, and I had to add coolant to get it to be filled to the "fill" line. Got down to 210-220, and ran around the parking lot and it cooled off to 200 or so, and that was the last of it.
Any ideas what happened? While driving there has been no problem.
Things replaced:
Replaced radiator, hoses, thermostat about 15 - 20k ago.
Then had to replace thermostat second time about 10k ago (stuck open).

There are two ways to answer that:
1) If fan clutch is older than 8 years, yes, it's due to be replaced.
2) Try stopping it with your hand!
Don't try #2 lol.
A good fan clutch will make a very loud roaring noise at higher revs when its hot. It's a wear item.

Yes, the shroud is intact and all there. Looks like I'll be replacing it. Stupid question, any tips while doing it or that I should know before hand?

make sure the seal in the thermostat cap is not bad, could start to leak... that was my problem in my jeep, replaced the cap and never had a problem with the coolant again passing over 210... its actually stays a lil lower than the middle

U'll need to loosen both the shroud and fan assembly. Lift the fan and shroud out together and go back in with the fan inside the shroud. Having 3 hands helps.

Thanks guys. I actually just replaced the radiator cap too less than 1k ago because it leaked occasionally. Old on was really bad. Ill check it again, then the thermostat, then the fan clutch. Really appreciate all the helps guys! Ever need pc help message me.
