Hi guys I'm now the proud owner of a 2000 Cherokee Classic, my second Jeep. It doesn't have an overhead console but I was wondering if I could put one in with little effort. I remember reading a while back that the connector is already there so could I just pick one up of eBay or at a junkyard and throw it in? Also does it have to be one from a Cherokee or would the smaller one from a Grand Cherokee work as well?

 

I know the Cherokee console will fit with some modification to the headliner.

I think those from grand Cherokees won't work.

As of your 2000, only those from 2000-2001 would be a direct plug in.

However you still can use 97-01 overhead consoles but you would need to change connectors or easier just to change wiring harness on 97-99 consoles.

 

Anyone ever have luck finding a pre-97 overhead console or know anything that would work?

My 92 just has the original keyless entry sensor. Would love to put something functional in there.
