Default Overhead Center Console Install

I have a 99 XJ that Im looking to install a center console on because I want to run a cb, and switches for lights Im installing on the roof..I have found a few center consoles shipped in great condition with the harness..my question is what all do I have to do? Is there plugs for the harness to plug into above the head liner? Do i have to cut or modify my headliner? I was considering redoing it while it was out anyways.. and where does the console mount? is there pre existing mounts there already?
any adice/write-ups/help would be greatly appreciated.

There's a lot of information out there if you do a search, but in a nutshell your best bet is to use one from the same year so that the harness connectors are the same. You'll also need the bracket where the light is.

The front of it attaches where the visors are. The headliner is different, but I don't see why you couldn't cut yours to fit.

Yeah I found some stuff, the only thing that wasnt clear to me was the wiring part. where do the existing wires come out and hook up? Someone said It was behind the dash...others said that they are already up above the head liner
