i just switched my closed system to a open system. i couldnt find an overflow tank anywhere so i made one from a wiper fluid bottle. i finally found a overflow tank at the jy yesterday and i just noticed there is a hole the size of a pen tip at the top by the fill cap. is it ok that there is a hole there or should i keep loooking

I'm guessing this is for the cooling system. Then yes, there is a hole in the top of the overflow cap to keep the system at/near atmospheric pressure.
yes its the coolant overflow tank and no its not a factory made hole it looks like someone smacked it with a screw driver and put a small puncture in it.

Since it's way at the top of the bottle, it's not really going to affect anything. If the coolant gets that high, it's most likely going to overflow out of the cap anyways.

Where are you going to mount yours at? I swapped to an open system on mine also but there really isn't any room to put one.
I cannot remove the mount for the old closed system bottle since I have the Renix 9 brake system that is mounted under that bracket.
Sure wish I had normal power brakes.
One of these days soon I will gather all of the parts I need and swap it out.
