Title should read "no aux fan"
So my 90 cherokee with a closed system over heats at idle. At 40ish it runs 210, but at a stop light or in traffic it will creep up to and sometimes past the 3/4 mark. Sometimes I can hear the Overflow bottle boil off if it goes over 3/4. I changed the therostat, water pump, and fan clutch. Did a system flush and I dont believe there are any air bubbles (jacked up the rear end and burped from the temp sender). One thing I noticed is that my jeep does not have the aux electric fan, no factory a/c or tow pakage. It would seem to me adding an electric fan would help keep it cool at idle, but if it didn't come with it it should not need it /wink. Also since it did not come with it wiring one in would require adding another thermostat or direct wiring it so that it is always on. O, and finally id does not have a fan shoud, I guess it broke off at some point and was never replaced. I have 4 things left, outside a blown head gasket, new overflow bottle cap, new radiator, fan shroud, or the electric fan. Any help would be apreciated.

So new radiator, fan shroud, and cap. Now it runs between 170-210, almost seems to run too cool, but I think that is much better. Onto other problem....
