what for? simply for the display reading?
I think you may be referring to the black ball for keyless entry in earlier model cherokees.

I think there is a method to recalibrate these in the owners manual. BTW I'm lifted and I have lockers and mine is dead on.

Admittedly, it would bother me to, but it's low on the list. I've heard the temp sensor is under the bumper. Try cleaning it. If nothing else, pull another from the JY.

i had the same problem in my 92 xj,snatched a couple of the sensors at the junkyard tried both of em and nothing, but i have a couple spares of the temp display im going to try to swap one in when it warms up because it looks like a booger to replace when the overhead console is removed and you can actually look at it

its 1 screw to hold the console up and I think 3 screws holding the lights on that just releases the unit o and a couple wires. Well if you have some spares and they work how much you want? lol

Well after doing some research there is an ambient air temp sensor that corrolates with over head console. They are like 20 bucks new at autozone or advance or napa or where ever your part store of choice would be. I'll be picking out up eventually. I just have bigger fish to fry at this point. I'll keep everyone posted as to my success of the new sensor install.
