Ordered the lift- JC Whitney coupons rock!
JC Whitney was kind enough to send me catalogs for the past few years even though I haven't ordered anything from them for a long time.
Found they had the best price for the RC 3" lift (AAL) - $235.99 w/ free shipping on orders over $100. They do still get you for $12 oversize item fee but not bad as most other places want $35-$50 for shipping of this kit.
Looked through my catalog and found a coupon code for 20% off your order so the lift with discount was only $188.79 + the $12 shipping for a total of $200.79. I decided I saved enough money on the kit that I got blue shock boots (X5) and the steering stabilizer as well. Coupon code is BAWBEX9 and is good through 5/31 (good for 20% off your order of $150+).
I will be picking up 5 TJ Canyon rims tonight and tomorrow having the 31X10.5 Goodyear tires mounted. XJ should be ready for some trails (and just plain look sweet) in a couple of weeks!
Gotta see how the rims look in person, I was planning on painting them black, but if they are nice and clean then I may leave them alone for now. I do like the look of blacked out rims more than silver, but I have plenty of work to do on the Jeep still. Painting rims I can always do later.

Well it is drop shipped from RC, and I talked to them and could not find any difference in parts. As a matter of fact I called RC directly and they offered to match the JCW price, however they don't have 20% off codes and free shipping. I will report in once it gets here and see if there is indeed any parts difference... Should be (per the JCW phone rep): 4 Hydro shocks, 2 front springs, 2 rear AAL springs, new Ubolts. I may have to supply my own leaf spring clamps (not a big deal as I am going to be doing a Bastard Pack with JY leafs and the AAL spring anyway). I want about 4" in the rear and the 3" up front.
The difference in the 3" RC lift prices is one comes with the Hydro shocks and the other kit does not. That is the one downside to ordering from JCW- they will not allow you to upgrade to the Nitro shocks like RC will if you order direct, but hard to beat at the price I got (only $50 more than just getting the 4 shocks!). They also only offer it for the D35 axle so if you have the 8.25 then you need to buy different U bolts.
I am in no way affiliated with JCW, just ordered a ton of stuff from them when I was building my Corvette many years ago and always had great service and prices.
Cheers!

I'm so confused now lol. If I can get the shocks for super cheap I might mix and match the RE 3.5" set up with some discounted shocks from JCW instead of the whole leaf 3" RC lift kit.

I wish JCW had the whole leaf 3" RC kit, but they don't. I was close to getting the replacement rear XJ springs they do have but will do a junkyard spring pack instead. Pick-N-Pull is 1/2 price day on Wed so tomorrow I'll be loading the tools into the truck and heading over there on lunch. Just gotta remember to bring a roll of paper towels and hand cleaner next time- I brought my overalls but forgot hand cleaner, took a long time to clean my steering wheel!!!

I don't have the leasure to go to a JY here though. I talked to JCW about it and they said they would have to special order it and then I couldn't use the coupon so it would be more expensive for me. I'm so confused I hate spending money on something I might change later on. That's why I want to get it right the first time.

One BIG thing to watch with JCW.... In the past they would not honor warranties on failed parts.....They will tell you since it was a bad part to start with, you have to go directly to RC...
