Looks good Mudd.

I forgot about the 3" dryer vent. found one today at work.
Since I work at a plumbing supply shop I have access to all of those things you used, well, except the inspection cat, but I do have an inspector grand-son.

Good job, good write up.
Now lets see it wet!!!!!

I think it's 4" or 4.25", can't remember. I'll have to dig it up and see what size it was. Either will work. It's up to you how much space you want between the sheetmetal and pvc.

The grand-son inspector is the upgraded version of my cat. It should be even better.

It is ceramic or glass. I tried to drill a hole in it to attach the pvc. It took alot of time just to get like 1/16th deep. While i was resting my arms, my gf picked it up and it blew up in her hands:

She almost had to have stitches from the nasty cut on her hand but we glued that shut.

What you gonna do about the hole in your fender? You know you can buy the same caps that arb uses on their snorkels? I think it's $60 for that top piece. Another option is to buy a pre-filter that goes over the cone filters to keep moister out. Cut to fit over the top of the snorkel. You can have a 90 degree fitting at the top that points towards the rear of the jeep and cover the hole with pre-filter. My buddy made his pvc snorkel on his yj through the fender and at roof level. He had the 90 degree fitting pointing towards the rear and it kept the water and rain out.

You have any pictures of your snorkel setup? I'm curious.

Do the tires rub on that pvc? That's an interesting setup.

I'm still searching for 3" rubber hose. I can't seem to find it. I've seen 2" hose but not 3".

Snorkel's working out fine. I'm finding an occasional bee and leaf in the air box but it's working good.

The jeep looks good overall, the snorkel looks good too.
But i wouldn't wheel it in water that could come over your hood, it will suck it directly in your engine, and that compartment of the wiper motor is flooded immediately.

The cap of the snorkel is 7" above the cowl surface so I got a good depth to hit before it's submerged......BUT i wouldn't do that anyways. I know other things will fail before the water hits the intake.

Ok, mud, it is certainly better than the stock intake.
What i meant is when you hit a pond, you get that wave effect that goes over the hood, even if the water was only up to the bumper..
