Default operating temp

how long until reaching operating temp? i think my thermo is stuck open. it takes my 1996 classic about 5-7 minutes to get to 210.

Xjs are like woman some get hotter quciker. But as long as it isn't over heating it's ok.

well I have several one goes straight to 210 and stays there till you sit a little then it will go up a little but never higher than 220 cause the fan kick on. One runs under 200 and one runs between 200 and 210.

is this while your A/C is running? cuz when I run my A/C my fan is on all the time.

That only happens to me in MI winters, but like TJ said, as long as its not overheating your good.

mine stays at about 210 but creeps passed to close to 230 in traffic. i did fan clutch and back flush radiator....next will be thermo but i really don't want to. never done one before....

I've never timed it but mine heats up pretty quickly but does not go past 190-200 in normal driving.

Heavy traffic or wheeling on a hot day will only get it a little way past half on the gauge.
