I have a '96 jeep Cherokee sport 4.0. I replaced my old ignition coil because it had huge cracks across it. When I was hooking the negative lead to the battery coming out of power distribution center, I accidentally put it on the positive terminal and tried to start it. I heard a little click, and now nothing happens when I turn the key. No dash lights, no interior lights, no electric. Battery tested good, wires from battery looked good. I have no idea where to start

 

check your maxi fuses under the hood.

 

All look good. None of them snapped

 

Fuseable link, (wire that burns up inside it's plastic coating). Need to check wiring diagrams for location. Near the battery I believe.

 

The auto places in town only have 14g links. Is it safe to go to a smaller gauge?
