First off let me say hello! New to the boards here but a long time Jeep Lover.
I recently purchased a 96 Cherokee Country, On top of the other problems it currently has, I only have one working speaker??
Any ideas on what mat cause this, I pulled the Headunit (Factory Tape Deck) all the wires look good and I pulled the speakers and the wires are good there.
I can only assume the deck, but maybe I am wrong!!

No the wiring to the radio looks good, the speakers are in place and connected. I even pulled one of the speakers and reconnected it to make sure nothing was loose.

The sound bar on the headliner has been removed and the rear speakers are not working either. The only one that gives me any sound is the passenger front.???

My left front speaker doesn't work on my 92 Laredo. The RF buzzes. I figure the voice coils are worn out, or the speaker cone material is rotted.
I am going to replace both soon. I think the wiring is intact and the factory head unit is ok.

Check continuity, I've never had the problem but I've heard other people have. Somehow the wiring between the head unit and the speaker just goes bad somewhere in the middle.

Same thing happened to me in my 92. Hoping it's just the speaker, but have read quite a few posts here that say the same thing happened to them, so it's making me wonder. I'm going to replace the left speaker. Not sure if I have rears. I'll update. Good luck!

same problem here except my passenger rear worked as well.its the wiring cuz we tried a new speaker and no go-the wires werent even getting power.in the rear i ran the wires from the working speaker to a box with 2 little subs and tweeters-from advance auto for 30 dollars.now sounds pretty good going to have to rewire the driver speaker tho.

I'm researching the same issue because my '99 is missing continuity to the passenger front speakers in the door (woofer and tweeter.)
I read elsewhere that this is really common. The wires in the rubber bundle at the door hinge break internally.
The fix is to jumper wires from the speaker, back through the rubber boot, into the jeep, and splice them with the speaker wire back inside the jeep.
I'll be doing it tonight and will report back if it works.
To add complexity to the matter, there's an amplifier under the rear seat that the wires from the factory radio run to, and then to the speakers. So there are a few places to check.
The wires in the door are a different color than the wires that are in the radio harness due to the amplifier in between them.
