I went to start my Jeep after it had been running a while (not overheated or anything), and i turned the key and got absolutely nothing....waited 30 seconds, tried again, wanted to go but wasnt quite there......waited 30 seconds more, turned the key, and it fired right up! Does anyone know what I should be looking at to fix/replace. ?? Keep in mind the dome light worked and everything. No other issues before then, or ever since then!!!

It could be the starter or starter solenoid.

I had an old 89 4Runner that used to do this regularly. I carried a ball peen hammer with me in the truck at all times. When it wouldn't even click, I'd crawl under and tap a few times with the hammer and Voila !

So much for all that Toyota reliability ..... keep one 12 years and they develop their own problems too.

At least my Jeeps body panels are intact after 13 years. My Toyota's were not.

What a tin can that thing was compared to the Jeep !
