Dammit! Daylight is a precious commodity when working on the Jeep, and I ran out.
My goal was simple: replace the t-stat with a MotoRad possibly OEM equivalent, then do my e-fan swap. Easy, right?
Wrong. I hit snags.... A lot of snags. Some because of me having an errand from 12 to 3, some because of the crap work a garage did previously with a fan clutch replacement. ER--MAH--GERD!
So, I got the t-stat repaced. But, found the mech fan hits the thermoswitch for the fans. Had to remove the mech fan. This is where there were some snags. The nuts were super tight, it was dark.. but I finally got it off.
Here's my question... I have the nuts back on the studs. My concern is that the pulley may have shifted, but I don't think it did. I have the nuts tightened down to the point where the pulley turns even under tension of my belt. There are even amounts of stud threads sticking out. The belt is evenly seated on the pulley with maybe 1/8" of space between the belt and the riased lip of the fan pulley. Will this be ok without the fan bolted on the pulley? Does it seem like the belt and pulley are seated properly?
Thanks all! Good news is everything is ready to roll once I start her up and finish bleeding air/adding coolant. The e-fan is mounted in the shroud and looks very clean. Wiring harness is made... just need the DAYLIGHT!

Also, any harm in using a lock washer on top of a regular washer for the t-stat housing bolts? I got new ones, however there were no 2.25" bolts at my local stores. I got 2.5" bolts, and with the washers made it just a tad over 2.25 and seemed to fit just perfect and snugged up nicely.

I took 5-90's advice from a thread a while back advising a thread sealant minimum for non-brass/stainless bolts replacing tstat bolts and used just that.
Should I have just used antiseize?
Thanks cruiser. Your chiming in eases a worried person lol... especially with snow coming tomorrow.

IIRC, no sealant is needed on those bolts as their holes have a "bottom" and don't go into the cooling system.
