ok so i found 1 piece of metal in my tranny pan should i keep looking for a new tranny or just put new fluid in and gofer it

It's up to you. You can run it until it dies, and then fix it or you could take a proactive approach and fix it now. If I was in your situation, I would run it until it dies so I have time to save up for the repair. However, it could run for 1 mile or it could run for 10,000 miles.

Okay.....how big was this piece of metal shaving?

Just one piece? I wouldn't get too excited over one little shaving. It could be from the manufacturing process that finally got knocked free. Start seeing more, then start being concerned.
