I'm going to buy some new lift springs for my jeep... My stockers are shot... sagging bad, and making a ton of noise- driving me freaking nuts!
I really want the best ride I can have, because I use my jeep as my work vehicle. I want 3" of lift.. was looking at RC's and rusty's, but quite a few guys are saying they do not ride as nice as the OME HD's.... They only list the Ome's as giving 1-2" of lift? Some say they get 2", others say they got 3-4"? WTF? If I buy the Ome hd's how much lift can I expect?

I'm going 3" Rusty's (150 lb) on the front coils, I know they ride nice..
I've had the Quadra tec HD's before(with a RE 2.5 long aal)... good springs but ride rough..
Rode in a jeep yesterday with a newer RC 3" with full packs and It rode just like my QT hd's did... Stiff.
No experience with the Rusty's packs...
I have pretty much everything I need for my lift except the springs, and need to order them ASAP!

from some of the research I did when purchasing my leafs the hd should be more than the med. Packs I purchased the med duties and after they settled it lifted about 2.75 inches...it was more than that before they settled in, but my understanding was the hd would put it higher....as for the ride and load capabilities they rock, it actually rides better with some weight on the back and hardly sags with weight.

the rear springs are,CS033RB 2.75 medium load,CS033RA 3.5 medium load,orCS035RA 2.0 heavy constant load,those are the part#s from ARB

Ya I saw that to... I'm just talking about the Hd's CS035RA ... I have to haul gear and sometimes I tow a trailer...
I drive a lot of cell tower and gas well roads...
There has to be some people that put the HD's in...

if your hauling stuff as well as towing a trailer then go with the HDs,I have the light duty ones on mine,the most I put in my jeep is 4 kids and stuff for the lake,I am real happy with them.

Call ARB and they will tell what you need for your needs. and the exact part number.

If you only tow a trailer sometimes medium load might enough The HD is for a heavy CONSTANT load.

But i would call ARB and talk with them for the best answer on their product.

Either way you made a good choice. having rusty coils up front and OME in the rear will be a really ncie ride

I had the OME stuff on my old V8 ZJ for a while... Till I turned it into a big boy... The fronts are the same # as the XJ's.. They rode nice but a little firm... I just think they would be kinda harsh in an XJ... I have a guy local that has the Rusty's fronts with a AAL in the rear... Rusty's are nice! Way softer then my old ZJ UC V8 coils I had in my old XJ, but still firm... He even had cheapy shocks.... That's all I needed to want those....

I run the mediums, with an OME add-a-leaf and MJ shackels.
Empty (no gas no gear) the rear sits at about 3-3.25" (I do have a lot of heavy armor) and it rides firm. Do not confuse firm with harsh.
With a full tank of gas and gear loaded up it sits at 2.5" and the ride is very nice.
OME930 coils are no where near the same as V8 ZJ coils. The 930's ride very plush.
I assume you see a lot of washboard and rough roads at a decent pace. I would suggest the firm shocks... I had comfort shocks in the beginning and washboard at speed overwhelmed them.

LOTS of wash outs and washboards...
I'm just sticking with some JK rubi shocks for the time being(got all 4 with less then 25 miles for 50.00...) They ride so much better then the base shocks that come in most kits.... A few guy's run them I know...
I have Wj ca's, BPE's, and a YJ rear brake hose also.
Just so everyone understands... I'm not going to really wheel this.. Just trying to set it up as a capable work vehicle that can handle and withstand constant trail riding. I will not be disconnecting the links and rock crawling and stuff with this one(at this time anyway)....
Other things I need to get on are:
1) My hitch
2) my skids.... ZJ gas tank skid, and my old xj tcase and steering skids
3) My 4.10 axles (hp 30 and 8.25 rear if it isn't bent) from my wrecked '99 2.5 xj
4) V8 Zj steering from the '99
5) New Mopar water pump and clutch fan
6) Trans cooler
7) new 30's or 31's not sure on these yet....
Should end up being a decent rig when I'm done... Gonna try and get it all done in one weekend(once I figure out the springs)

I'm running the 930 coils with a second .75 spacer to get 2.5 of total lift.I have the CS034RB light duty springs in the rear,at 2.0 over stock,nitro shocks are a little harsh on road but supper plush off road.I love it.

What part # leaf's do you have? cso33rb or the 33ra's?

This is old so I'm assuming that you already got your setup figured out. I've been researching the OME springs and found that the spring rates are as follows:

OME 930 XJ coil 160 lbs/inch ~2"
OME 934 ZJ coil 180 lbs/inch

OLD MAN EMU-CS034RA (OMEJC1A) 5 leaves in pack, 148lbs/inch s.r. 230mm (9.055") free height= Average lift of ~3"
OLD MAN EMU-CS034RB (OMEJC1B) 5 leaves in pack, 148lbs/inch s.r. 205mm (8.07") free height
OLD MAN EMU-CS035RA (OMEJC2A) 4 + 1 overload, 137/257lbs/in s.r. 235mm (9.25") free height
OLD MAN EMU-CS035RB (OMEJC2B) 4 + 1 overload, 137/257lbs/in s.r. 210mm (8.27") free height
OLD MAN EMU- D22XL (OME Add A Leaf) ~ 1" lift on top of their lift packs

The HD springs actually have a softer rate than the medium or light until you compress the suspension far enough to get to the overload spring.

And with this being an old post if you could please post pics n comments on what you decided upon. What you were wantin is the same thing i was hoping to do for my Cherokee. Thanks.
