After learning from Cherokeeforum that you could install ZJ springs on an XJ for 1 inch additional lift, I purchased ZJ V8 OME springs and put them on my XJ. They appeared to have given me approximately 3 inches of lift and they only cost $150 for the pair from 4Wheelparts. Considering the XJ 2 inch OME springs are almost $200 for the pair, I just wanted to pass this along to anyone interested. Thanks for the info that everybody posts here, it's helpful, especially when you're learning as you go.

Have you measure the exact height of the front?

I should've went that route. I ordered from Dirk at DPG and he recommended the 2" coils for cherokees. I ended up with 1.5" lift with those and just stacked two 1" spacers for 3.5".

Are those coils noticeably stiffer?

I have always heard good things about OME stuff. Recently a guy on another forum said that they are now farmed out to China. Worth checking on b/c of inferior quality of the Chinese steel. Just my two cents on this matter.

OME stuff has always recieved high marks. Their older stuff is holding up real well. We are talking 10-15 year old stuff that has been wheeled and abused hard. You probably have gotten some NOS springs. Wally World would be proud to have their label on anything OME. ZJ stuff is not a hot mover so what you got was on someones shelf for awhile I would think. How long you had that lift anyway?

Two months so far. Cherokee 2" springs from dpg, and HD CS035RA rear springs with one ome AAL added to it. Got the springs brand new from a guy on another forum. Don't know where he got em, or when.

CS034RA (OMEJC1A) 5 leaves in pack, 148lbs/inch s.r. 230mm free height
CS034RB (OMEJC1B) 5 leaves in pack, 148lbs/inch s.r. 205mm free height
CS035RA (OMEJC2A) 4 + 1 overload, 137/257lbs/in s.r. 235mm free height
CS035RB (OMEJC2B) 4 + 1 overload, 137/257lbs/in s.r. 210mm free height

I had ome 2.5" lift on the TJ before. The best suspension i ever ran, just not tall enough (it never is ).

You are probably OK the OME thread I read on another forum was a brittle TJ coil that snapped in two. Back about January if I remember right. Can't remember exactly when or even which forum it was on now. Came down off a rock shelf and hit pretty hard from what I remember and found a broken front coil.

Well, it netted a lift of 3.375 inches. I had the stock springs with Daystar spacers, which I measured and they were 1 7/8 inches tall. I removed the spacers and stock coils and put in the OME coils, which made it 1 1/2 inches taller than with the stockers and spacers, so I actually got just over 3 1/4 inches of lift. Not too shabby. Now I need to purchase my rear springs. I planning to go with Skyjacker 3 inch springs in the rear.

X2 on the sag part.
Pro Comps big market is Ford owners. Jeeps big market is RE and OME. There are others but these two are the top of the heap.

Not that I've noticed. I've only driven it a little bit, though.
