not sure about the lights but as far as the coolant, did it come out after you shut it off or thats when you noticed it?

Check to see where it was coming from could be almost anything look for the source. Check around the top and bottom of the rad, check upper and lower hoses at the rad and at the motor, check the water pump, and heater hoses.

That to me sounds like it's coming from the water pump

there's a little hole on top or bottom of the base of the pump that sometimes blows if it is your going to have to replace the pump

I bet the coolant is coming from a leak. Do you have a trailer connector on this Jeep? If so, that could be the cause of the problem with your taillamps.

The light issue could be coming from the turn signal switch in the column.
your brake lights pass through the turn signal switch the to the brake lights.
There should be a long flat connector ontop of the column. USe a test light there to check for the correct power going out. If its ok there. Your going to be looking for the short between that and the lights.
Its not that hard to change the switch in the column IF you have the special press tool to remove the steering lock.
While your in there, if it has a tilt wheel I would suggest torquing down the bolts that hold the tilt section of the column to the base of column. It will save hassles later.

There is some sort of converter in the trailer light circuit because a Cherokee has seprate turn signals, that converter can be the problem.
