Is it advisable to remove the foam padding under the pedals? I have a reason for it, I'm sealing leaky spots with silicone and its in the way. I've already removed most of it. I assume its mostly for sound/heat? Thanks

 

I've removed mine. Just a insulation for heat and noise I think.

 

It's a pita to get out. I'm trying to do it as neat as possible but it's getting cut out except for the middle because its stuck under the dash in the middle on the hump.
