help me! i posted earlier on here asking tail gate ?s! and now i found this.........
wheres it go and am i missin somethin?

 

I'm guessing power lock. maybe it jamed on a previos owner and they just removed it alltogether or it just has the option for one.

Could it be the dome light switch? I had to bypass the one for my glass hatch b/c the switch went bad & the lights would not turn off.

Other possibilities; cyclops light? Power lock? Wiper? Washer pump?

Possibly an unused connector b/c the same harness was used for various models of Jeep?

I love everything about my ZJ, EXCEPT the electrical system. It seems they went ultimate cheap on every component in it, and I'm constantly chasing ghosts.

Good luck; but if you don't miss whatever it used to do, I wouldn't worry about it much. If you can't find any connectors within reach that it would plug into, I'd say it was just an unused one in the harness, or possibly a test connection from the factory build.

 

yea! im thinkin domelight switch but where does it plug into?
anyone got a pic of there tailgate naked?

haha yup. translation= rear gate without trim so i can see where that wire plugs in! lol

 

On second look... that's some kind of a weatherproof connector. It looks like it might be for another light.. license plate light maybe?

that is the plug for auxiliary license plate light if you have swing out tire carrier.

Did you figure out what it was for? If not go to a junk yard and check it out. Mine has an extra wire in the front for a power antana that mine didn't come with. Maybe it's just and extra plug.

 

yea, im thinkin bout goin 2 a junkyard to see how it sets up if no one can help me here
