Default Oil spraying everywhere

So I drove 311 miles and right when I get off the freeway-my engine starts making all sorts of noises. I, thankfully, can pull right into my hotel and pop the hood. My jeep has oil spraying everywhere. It's a dark oil, so I am assuming engine oil. When I was turning into the parking spot it did became hard to drive. I let my vehicle sit and it did turn right on-roughly 30 minutes after I parked it.

Why would oil be spraying everywhere? Any ideas?

The bad news is I'm stuck here till it's fixed and I just dumped $950 into it 2 weeks ago.

Thanks!

My first guess would be the oil pressure sender blew up, it happens and when it does it makes a hell of mess.

it just became more difficult. but I had made 4 turns and then parked. when parking it became hard/heard a noise so I assumed it was hard.

Yes very dark, it's a hydraulic fluid but not as nasty as brake fluid. Sounds like you sprung a leak in the high pressure line or its fittings down to the steering box

to bad I can't fix it.
Now the real problem-how to get it towed 311 miles to my house (any ideas?)

all the garages here are booked for 2 weeks solid-I'm in North Dakota; heart of the oil boom. I'm going to try and sell it cause of all the hassle.

You can still drive it but you will not have power assist.

You can still drive as stated. But it will take some muscle to turn at low speeds.

low speeds, but at high speeds I'll be ok?

will there be any noises associated with this?

should I add more fluid before I do this?

Shouldn't add more fluid if you have a leak... It will be like driving cars before they had power steering lol
