oil problem

Default oil problem
I have a 1988 camanche the oil light is on and ticking unless the overdrive kicks in what could be the problem?

bad pump? low oil?

maybe the screen is clogged on the pump pick up?

do these pumps have a habit of the bolts coming loose and losing pressure like some bmw motors?

i always thought these oil pumps were gear drivin so they would either work or not right? screen is clear oil level good i am stumped

Get used to it, mines been doing it for 50,000 runs great just ticks and knocks at start up.

yeah my old cherokee did the same ticked and knocked at start up but this ticks and knocks all the time bad
