Hey there i just bought a new 92 Cherokee and while my car is on, my oil pressure gauge likes to jump all the way to the top of the meter and almost imitate the tachometer. Any ideas?? thanks!!

Remove the connector from the oil pressure sender. Turn the key on and the gauge should read 0, then ground the connector and it should peg to 80. If it doesn't do this the gauge or wiring is bad. If it does 0 and peg then your oil pressure sending unit is bad.
