YYYYYYUP!! I currently have the over-sized Motorcraft (no real reason, just cuz i can) with T5. Would never buy a fram again.... Wix (NAPA), motorcraft, Mopar though is good
I've been using Purolator One filters with good results. Wix are hard to find around here for some reason.
Got a Napa around there?
Gold Filters are just rebranded WIX.
Gotta catch their Gold Filter sale they run once a year most years.
Get them below wholesale cost. I stock up when they do. Think a 1085 runs $3.38 before tax.
And I have to buy them as a regular customer instead of under our employee account in the computer.
Cause otherwise I would pay more. LOL.
I buy oil filters in batches and just keep them around on the shelf so they're there when I need them. Rock Auto has decent prices for Wix and other good brands. You can buy oil at the same time if you want. I typically don't like to have oil sitting around for a long time so I usually just run to the local store to pick it up when I do the oil change. Benefit there is that the engine is nice and warm to help drain the oil when I get home.
Don't skimp when you buy the oil filter. There is a difference between good filters and cheap junk. Every brand has a top of the line filter that is good. Some brands have "economy" filters that are junk and should be avoided at all costs. The good filters only cost a couple of bucks so why not use one?
All oil that meets standards is "good enough" provided you change it regularly. Every 5,000 miles is a good interval for regular oil. More often is a bit of a waste but it doesn't hurt anything. Synthetics are pretty much good for 10K intervals whether they advertise it or not (they make more money the more often you change oil so they don't like to advertise that fact). Again, a quality filter is essential for long change intervals.
Buying filters in batches sounds like a good idea. Then you can just decide to change your oil one day without going to the store to get a filter.... There's already one on the shelf in the garage!!! I also trust oil sitting in the garage for quite a while, as long as its still got the seal and lid on... as in it's never been opened.. I have a gallon container about half full that's a mix from leftover oil changes. I use it in my old school oil can for lubing stuff... its like one of those cans the tin man uses in Wizard of Oz.. Its probably got some 5W30, some 10W30, some 10W40, 20W50 and so on....
Ok, not exactly like it, but similar. I really like it. Its SUPER old, probably from the 50's or 60's and still pumps great!!! No leaks either.
Speaking of oil sitting on the shelf.... is there a shelf life on oil that hasn't been opened?
I guarantee you that the TSC oil does not have the same level of ZDDP that Rotella does!
I find it ironic that people will insist on buying good oil filters but will dump any oil that happens to be handy. Makes no sense!
It's because oil is regulated and has to meet certain specs before it is allowed to be sold to the public. There is little to no regulation on oil filters, and for the record the TSC oil actually has more zinc than Rotella, over 1300 ppm last time I had an oil analysis done on it.

When I had my sample done my zinc was 1330 ppm on Rotella oil. (T5 but had also topped off once with some T6 that I had laying around.)

Actually I just checked, Delo 15w40 was 1190 ppm, Motorcraft 15w40 was 1323 ppm and the TSC oil was 1552 ppm. I haven't used or tested the new Rotella T4 but from other results I have seen it doesn't have as much Zinc as the old CJ4 Rotella did.

TSC Traveller HDEO oil is made by Martin Lubricants and the Zinc in it is now 1190ppm
