Oil pressure goes from 50 to 20 as it warms up
I have a 95 Cherokee 4.0 inline 6. When the engine is cold the oil pressure is around 50 but as the engine warms up it slowly goes to about 20 psi and there is a slight loss of power but it still runs alright. Any ideas would be helpful

If you are saying the oil pressure is 20 psi at hot idle, the minimum oil pressure is 13 psi. If it's 20 psi at, or above, 1500 RPM (Cruise) then I would be concerned.
Thanks for the input. What do you think about the loss of power it's like your hauling a loaded trailer. It doesn't do it all the time but mostly when at normal running temp. I'm new to jeeps so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

when u have the loss of power condition, take notice and see if the transmission is shifting gears, or if it is starting in 3rd. I seen this a few times, no power at all off the start.

normal. I hooked up a mechanical gauge to mine, 60psi start up, 20 psi hot. loss of power could be a number of things...maybe clarify the situation a little better for us?
